I’m Anna – a wife and a mother to a spirited daughter and two cats, Gaia and Calypso.
Though I’m a small town girl from North Carolina at heart, I consider myself a citizen of the globe. I’ve studied and lived in Mexico, Qatar and Spain before settling down and starting a family in the multicultural city of London. It is in London where I delved deep into my studies around inequalities within maternal and child health. Education is a tool that is highly valued in the Black American community and it has profoundly shaped my life. Holding a MSc in social epidemiology and a BA in anthropology, I value multidisciplinary research, policies, initiatives, frontline care and activism which goes into bettering the lives of women, their children, families and the wider community.
Who I am as a breastfeeding specialist, doula and educator is largely shaped by my passion for connection, community, empowerment and equality. My aim is to continue to learn and work in partnership with every client, student and family that I encounter.
